Hi Everyone:
We had a "Fundy" day slipin' and slidin' in the mud in Maitland. Tomorrow we're off to Dover for kayaking. Here's what to bring and wear:
Footwear---sandals are best (with an ankle strap like a
Keen's or something), ideally not flip flops. Old running shoes are often
good as well. Be prepared to get your feet wet getting in and out of
kayak. For on the island, something you can comfortably walk/hike on
Peggy's Cove style rocks.
Swim type shorts work well in the kayak and on the
island...being prepared to get wet always makes it easier. A fleece type
jacket and/or windbreaker is always great
to have as well.
Something to keep the sun off your head is necessary, and plenty of sunscreen. A water bottle and your food, etc. Generally all the stuff that the kids bring to camp for you probably....always great to have dry clothes for after. Hopefully, we can get in for a swim on the island, but I don't recommend bringing towels out to the island...air/sun dry works best, and besides, then likely to get wet again on the boat.
