Music Tomorrow

Hi Everybody!

Tomorrow we would like to invite the Young Naturalists staying from 3 pm to 5 pm to bring their musical instruments to share some music with us! Suzanne and Arielle will lead the campers in creating songs from nature and the heart, and if you would like to participate, you are welcome to join us.  Suzanne has many little musical instruments as well, so no worries if you don't have one to bring.

Sea (and maybe hear!) you soon,

Shark Presentation a Success!

Seven young naturalists had a very special presentation this Saturday by shark researcher Brendal Davis in preparation for their shark tagging adventure on Tuesday.

Brendal is seen in the photo holding the toothy jaw of a Short-finned Mako Shark, found in our waters. Shark lover Lily looks on.

Can't wait to tag some sharks!

Mystery Creature Clues #3 and #4

Hey everybody,

Here are today's "Who Am I?" clues.  Does anyone know the answer yet?

Clue #3: I have no bones. I can squeeze through very small spaces. If I lose an arm, it will grow back.

Clue #4: I care for my eggs until they hatch.

Good luck!

Mystery Creature

Hey everybody,

As all the campers know, this year we are doing a fun new activity called "What Am I?"  Every day, the campers are given 2 clues about a mystery creature.  The creature will be revealed on the last day of camps, and the campers will find out if their guesses were correct!  If you'd like to brainstorm about the creature at home, we will be posting the clues here on the website so you can see them at home.

Clue #1: I am a unique species.  I have three hearts and blue blood.

Clue #2: Nearly 300 species of me exist. The smallest is the size of a quarter, and the largest would just fit in a 2 car garage!

Peace, Love, and Jellies!

SHARK Tagging Adventure now open to 10 year olds!

Hello all you parents of 10 year olds:

We have some really exciting news for the 10 year old young naturalist in the family.  The Captain of the shark fishing boat has given the okay to allowing 10 year olds to join in on the adventure too.  We only have room for 3 more young naturalists, ages 10 to 15 aboard the boat, so please let us know soon if they would like to embark on an adventure of a lifetime on July 16.  Please feel free to call Scott (823-3049), email us at ospreys@eastlink.ca, or read the Seastar Times for more information. Oh, and its FREE too! Hello everyone,

We are so excited to say that Camp 1 is just a week away! For those of you who will be attending that camp, here's a quick reminder of when you should show up on the first day.  :)

We would like Megan, Zoe, Lily, Skyra, Miriam, Benjamin to come at 8:30 am.  We would like Sydney, Evan, Vance, Kyra, Nolan and Abigail to come at 9 am. If the times are going to cause issues with family scheduling, then let us know and we can put you in another group.
