Spring/Summer Camps for children ages (3-6)

Suzanne and Kai

Hello all families with younger Children:

Our friend Suzanne, who has helped us out at Camps, is now offering a two day per week camp for little people in Hackett's cove.

Suzanne and her four year old Son Kai have a cat, dog and pig.   They will have a relaxed focus on imaginative play outdoors, connection with nature, communication with each other, gardening, child-led community projects and creative arts.  We try to eat whole organic foods on picnics.

Children will have a chance to win prizes and tour fire trucks, while the grown-ups learn about the many community organizations working to enhance our community.

When: May 24, 2015 from 12-3 pm.

Halifax 'Connect the Blue Dots: a day of community action'!

Hi Everyone:

The Blue Dot Movement is nation-wide grassroots mobilization supported by the David Suzuki Foundation and Eco-justice will be visiting the IPYNC.   The goal The Blue Dot Movement is
to have our inherent right to a healthy environment - to safe drinking water, clean air, healthy food, and decisions that affect our lives - recognized in by all levels of government in Canada. Currently they are not.

Leading up to their visit with us this Summer, The Blue Dot Movement are calling upon the municipal government to pass a declaration to commit to this vision. People in municipalities across the country will begin the grassroots mobilization needed to call upon our provincial governments to do the same, and this will lay the foundation for a national-level campaign.
On April 19th, connect with folks across the street and around the country, all committed to protecting the people and places we love.

Here in Halifax, you can “choose-your-own-adventure” (or choose “all of the above”)!

Join us  at 10am at the Dal Bike Centre to cycle to Long Lake, where the Dalhousie Outdoors Society will be leading a guided hike of some beautiful trails. Then, join us at 2pm at Victoria Park in downtown Halifax. We will be having a kid-friendly community celebration with food, conversation and lots of fun!

Participants are asked to wear blue for a group photo that we can use to show that Haligonians are connected to others across Canada who believe in the right to a healthy environment for all!

Please visit https://www.facebook.com/halifaxbluedot/info?tab=page_info  for more information on The Blue Dot Movement

Peace, Love and a healthy environment!
